Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR CLAIM A PRIZE.  A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING.  Void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.

1.      ELIGIBILITY:  The Stay In Touch With Six Flags Sweepstakes  is open only to legal residents of the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware who are thirteen (13) years of age or older or age of majority in their state of residence at the time of entry. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. Employees of WPIX, WPHL, Six Flags Great Adventures, Vibes Media, and each of their parent, subsidiary companies, affiliates, divisions, franchisees, representatives, consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers, distributors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment and marketing agencies, and their officers, directors, employees, shareholders and agents, and members of such employees’ immediate families (defined for these purposes as including spouse, parents, children, and siblings and each of their respective spouses) and individuals living in the same household with such employees, are not eligible to win.  Sweepstakes begins on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 (05/07/08) at 9:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, October 20, 2008 (09/20/08) at 9:00 PM ET, (“Sweepstakes Period”). 

2.      TO ENTER: 

There are two ways to enter:

A. VIA TEXT: Watch WPIX (CW11) or WPHL (MYPHL17) during the Sweepstakes Period.  At any time during the sweepstakes period, send a text message to 77944 with the keyword, FUN, in the body of the message.  All entrants must have a text messaging two-way capable handset and digital service in order to enter the Sweepstakes using the text messaging method.  Entrants will be sent a text message to confirm entry into the Sweepstakes.  Entrants entering by text will be charged standard text messaging rates for text messages sent and received from their handset according to the terms and conditions in their wireless calling plan.  Text messaging and wireless service are not available in all areas.  Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any text message entry at any time which in Sponsor’s opinion does not comply with these Official Rules.

B. ONLINE: Log onto www.wpix.com (www.cw11.com before 08/28/08) or www.myphl17.com, enter your name, age, valid email address, telephone, and optional field for mobile phone number (to subscribe to the Messaging Service described below), during the Sweepstakes Period. The Sponsor and Vibes Media, LLC are not responsible for Internet connections, unavailability or servers or any other technical malfunctions that may interfere with an entrant’s attempt to enter by Online Entry. If any dispute arises as to the identity of any entrant, an entrant shall be considered the person who owns the Internet account through which entry was sent to the Sweepstakes.

C. ADDITIONAL SERVICES: Stay In Touch With Six Flags Service. Those who enter by Text Messaging or complete the optional SMS alert entry form online will be automatically subscribed to receive FREE periodical text message updates on upcoming events at Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Wild Safari (“The Messaging Service”). The Messaging Service may be subject to fees and charges imposed by your wireless service provider under your calling plan.  The Messaging Service is scheduled to end on Monday, October 20, 2008, but may renew automatically if Six Flags and/or The Sponsor elects to extend The Messaging Service beyond Monday, October 20, 2008. Entrants may cancel their subscription at any time by sending the word STOP to the short code; 77944. Cancellation by this method will NOT eliminate the entrant from an otherwise valid entry into the Sweepstakes.

Online entrants may subscribe to The Messaging Service by entering their cellular telephone numbers online in the Online Entry form at www.wpix.com (www.cw11.com before 08/28/08) or www.myphl17.com. Subscription to The Messaging Service is not required when entering the Sweepstakes online. Entrants may cancel their subscription by sending the word STOP to the short code 77944.

The Stay In Touch With Six Flags Messaging Service is provided FREE of charge, outside of the standard text messaging rates for text messages sent and received from their handset according to the terms and conditions in their wireless calling plan.  Text messaging and wireless service are not available in all areas. Neither the Sponsor nor any Participating Station will be responsible for any charges from the cellular phone provider made to the entrant.

3.      PUBLICITY RELEASE:  Except where prohibited by law, entry in the Sweepstakes constitutes each entrant’s consent to use, publish, reproduce and for all purposes, including publicity, promotion and advertising, in commerce and all media worldwide (including without limitation, the Internet, television or offline promotions), each winner’s name, city, photograph, likeness, voice, image, statements, descriptions, each in perpetuity without limitation or further compensation, credit or right of review or approval.

4.      RANDOM DRAWING: Prizes will be awarded in random drawings from all Eligible Entries received. There will be a total of six (6) drawing days throughout the Sweepstakes Period. The first drawing day is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 26, 2008 and each subsequent drawing will take place every 4-5 weeks thereafter, on a date determined by Tribune Broadcasting Company.  Prize drawings will be conducted by Tribune Broadcasting Company, whose decisions shall be final and binding, as the administrator of this Sweepstakes. The winners will be notified by telephone or text message depending on the method of entry. Winners must respond to such notification within forty-eight (48) hours after the notification is sent or an alternate winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries.  Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.

5.      PRIZE: 

a.       Twelve (12) Prize Winners: Twelve (12) winners will receive four (4) tickets to Six Flags Great Adventure, Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) $257.

b.      Two (2) Grand Prize Winners: The first two (2) winners selected on Monday, May 28, 2008 will also receive two (2) Two-Park Season Passes (ARV: $180, for a total prize value of $437). Two-Park Season Passes gain entry to Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park and The Wild Safari.

Winner agrees to accept prize as is.  Prize is non-transferable and non-assignable. No cash redemption or prize substitution allowed by Winner.  Each winner may only win once during the Sweepstakes Period. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the prize or any component thereof is unavailable and/or undeliverable for any reason in the sole and complete discretion of Sponsor. All taxes on prize and other expenses related to accepting and/or using the prize not listed in these rules are the sole responsibility of Winner. The value of the prize will be taxable to Winner as income.  Sponsor shall have no responsibility or obligation to any Winner or potential Winner who is unable or unavailable to accept or utilize prize as described herein.

Prize will not be replaced or exchanged if lost or stolen.  To be eligible for the prize, the potential Winner must complete (and his/her parent/legal guardian will sign, if Winner is not the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which Winner resides) and return an affidavit of eligibility/liability/publicity and release as well as a 1099 tax form reflecting the value of the prizes and a W9 form, within three (3) days of prize notification. Prize won by a minor will be awarded in the name of the minor's parent/legal guardian.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner at random from remaining eligible entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.

Potential winners may be required to claim prizes at the closest Participating Station on a weekday during regular business hours on Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM ET and 5:00 PM ET. If a winner fails to claim his/her prize within thirty (30) calendar days of issuance of prize notification, prize shall be forfeited and no alternate Winner will be selected.

At Sponsor’s sole discretion, Sweepstakes entrants may be disqualified at any time for any reason permitted by these rules. 

6.      ODDS:  Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

7.      OTHER CONDITIONS:  Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion hereof, or to disqualify any individual implicated in any of the following actions, if for any reason:  (a) infection by computer virus, bugs, interruption in wireless calling devices or wireless service, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, (b) the Sweepstakes or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper processing of entries per these Official Rules, or (c) the Sweepstakes becomes corrupted due to wireless calling/text message carrier service interruption for any reason (d) the Sweepstakes is otherwise not capable of running as planned.  By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless WPIX, WPHL, Six Flags Great Adventure, Vibes Media, LLC and each of their parent, subsidiary companies, affiliates, divisions, franchisees, representatives, consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers, distributors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment and marketing agencies, and their officers, directors, employees, shareholders and agents, and each of the foregoing entities’ employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents (collectively the “Released Parties”), from and against any and all claims, actions and/or liability for any injuries or death, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or entry into the Sweepstakes or acceptance, delivery or use of any Sweepstakes prize. The Released Parties are not responsible or liable for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, and assume no responsibility for (i) any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in operation or transmission at any website, or wireless calling/text message carrier service, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections (ii) failure of any entry to be received by Sponsor due to technical problems, telephone service problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or wireless calling/text message carrier service (iii) communications line, hardware and/or software failures, malfunction of phones (including wireless phones/handsets), phone lines, other communications malfunctions, unavailable network connections, cellular equipment towers, telephone systems or wireless service (iv) damage to any computer (software or hardware) resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, or damage to mobile phone or other PDA device (v) theft or destruction of, tampering with, unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries and/or entry information, or (vi) entries which are late, lost, stolen, damaged, illegible, and/or unintelligible (or any combination thereof).  By entering, entrants agree to comply with these Official Rules.  Any entrant who attempts to tamper with this Sweepstakes in any way shall be disqualified. If you send your entry via text message, then you must have a valid Mobile Telephone Number (MTN) and account and the prize will be awarded to the name corresponding to the MTN from which the text message originated. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned a MTN by the wireless carrier or as shown on the billing records of the wireless carrier. The potential Winner may need to present a wireless bill to confirm his/her status as the Authorized Account Holder of the wireless account used to text message the winning entry.  In the event of dispute as to who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry.  “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question.  Additional restrictions may apply.

All issues and question concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions.

8.      INTERNET: If for any reason, the Internet-related portion or the text-entry portion of this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, tampering, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause which corrupts or threatens the administration, security or integrity of the Sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right, in Sponsor's sole discretion, to terminate or suspend the Sweepstakes or any portion of the Sweepstakes. ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE SWEEPSTAKES. Information submitted in Internet entries, including entrant's name, address, e-mail address, etc., may be used by the Sponsor for marketing or promotional purposes.

10.  WINNER’S NAME:  For the winner(s) name’s, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope by Friday, October 31, 2008 to: Stay In Touch With Six Flags Winners C/O Ed Ziskind, WPIX, 220 East 42nd Street, New York, NY 10017.
